What are some ways you know of to get out of credit card debt? I've heard a good method of increasing your income by just $100 and put that $100 towards your smallest credit card bill first and then work from there. After a while the small credit card payments that you paid off go towards your larger credit card balances until finally you are free of credit card debt. What do you think of this method?

Credit card debt is a major problem in this country. While not everyone has a credit card, those that do typically carry a balance. The interest rate on a credit card balance is usually between 10-30% APR. These high interest rates make it difficult for people to pay down their debt -- especially if only making the minimum payment. In fact, just making minimum payments can make even the smallest balance over a decade to pay off and thousands of dollars in finance charges. It’s no wonder getting out of debt seems so hard.

I think the best method of getting out of debts - it not to take loans, credit cards, if you don't have your own profitable business. But for common man it will be better to try to repay all his loans and to accumulate earned money, because now the main purpose of human life is - how to get out of debts, which are increasing due to high interest rates.

Credit card debt takes a big bite out of your wallet and, more importantly, tarnishes your financial image. A high unpaid credit card balance makes you a questionable client for loans and may even sabotage your efforts to to get a high profile new job because it can make you appear irresponsible to prospective new employers. However, plenty of charge cards offer rewards to those who run up debt by spending more. The new BankAmericard Better Balance Rewards card, however, rewards users when the pay their bills promptly and when they pay more than their minimum necessary payment.

Ideally, you should pay off as much as you can afford on your credit card because the more you owe, the more interest you will accrue (http://www.laan-info.dk/). But that is not always possible if you are struggling financially.

Don’t fall into the trap of thinking you are managing your credit card debt by paying the minimum amount every month, because your debt will only grow.

Missing payments will also lead to charges, further adding to your debt.

If you are experiencing problems, the first thing to do is to stop using your card and destroy it. It is also a good idea to contact your card provider and let them know about your situation, but don't agree to any repayment plan that you cannot realistically afford.
