How can I get a fixed secured rate for my mortgage? I noticed a few years ago a lot of the rent and mortgage costs went up due to a loan rate that wasn't locked. How can someone get their rate locked for a 30 year mortgage loan? Is getting a fixed locked rate a safer option?
